Bookends Hope For Fairytale Ending

A Chilean teacher and a young British student have teamed together in an attempt to enter the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s largest bookends. Beatriz Jaramillo and Jamie-Leigh Higginson have started working as bookends in the remote Bolivian high plains location of Laguna Blanca (White Lagoon).
“It’s a great job” Jamie-Leigh told Papa’s got a brand new blog in an exclusive interview.
“We’re not sure if Guinness will accept our entry though” explained Beatriz “as our job is to hold up a billboard. However, it would be terrible if they excluded us on such a trivial technicality.”
The young women, who only started working in Laguna Blanca last week, said the job was quite interesting but the hours were long and the salary very low. They work 16 hours per day, 7 days a week but only earn about $10 a week!
“We do get to meet lots of interesting people.” said Beatriz. "The worst thing is that it gets as cold as -26ºC at night."
The couple expect to hear back from the record book publishers next week to see if they have been successful in their plight.
"We're hoping for a fairytale ending" explained Jamie-Leigh. "If Guinness make us famous, it will be worth it." she added.

Keep up the good work girls!!
