EPIDEMIC ALERT

Reports are filtering through that a baby-birth epidemic has struck in the Bristol area of South-West England. Local authorities are trying to play down fears that the epidemic may spread to neighbouring regions. A spokesperson told a reporter from world famous blogspot Papa's got a brand new blog that there was no need for the public to worry.

"There have only been 3 reported cases in the last few weeks" the spokesperson said, " A dodgy Bristol-based builder and his moll, a 200-strong-drum-clinic-teacher and his extremely-law-abiding partner (she works for the filth, init), and a strange couple who think they're birds and who plan to call their second child Eagle if it's a boy and Nightingale if it's a girl (their first sprog is called Robin!). We believe these isolated cases to be under control but we shall continue to monitor the situation. There is no reason to panic."

Nevertheless, despite this declaration by the authorities, public reaction has remained sceptical. Mrs B.Ware, a spokesperson for the general public, issued the following statement: “We are warning people to lock up the daughters, cancel all building work and avoid all drum clinics. This is a serious problem that needs to be cut in the bud. Like all epidemics, we need to isolate the source and cut off the supply lines. Additionally, we would also like the Royal Ornithological Society to visit the ‘Bird family’ to see if they need locking up. Maybe these people would be better off in cages.”

One young woman from the Worcester area has decided to take more drastic action. Emma Henderson-Higginson (18) is leaving for the USA next week and claims that the baby-birth epidemic is one of the main reasons she’s fleeing the country. “I like children and I’m going to work in a camp with children in the USA.” Emma told our reporter. “This baby-birth epidemic is scary though. I’d rather be safe than sorry so, I’m going to go away until the coast’s clear.”
Emma leaves for the States next week. Her older sister also has plans to seek a save haven on foreign shores and is leaving for New Zealand in the next month or so.

Birthday Scam Upsets Gunners

There have been reports that Arsenal Football Club has registered an official complaint with the Bloggers Association due to the premature announcement of the birthday of Liverpool fan Karol Cioma.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reported as having said "That was never a birthday. The referee gave Cioma a present and it wasn't even his birthday. That's why we lost the match"
Bistol-based builder Geddie Higginson is also a bit miffed and has threatened to build a wall around Cioma's house as a 'special' present when Cioma has his official birthday next week. "If it weren't for the fact that my sister and little nephew Joe wouldn't be able to get out either, I'd build a wall around the bug+er and let him rot. Pulling that birthday stunt was below the belt and the FA should investigate"

Mr Cioma was unavailable for comment.
