The Ring

The Ring is based on an original story devised with Daniel Brierley and Mark Chamberlien* (*I think) back in 1986/7 as project for a film course at the London College of Printing. It tells the story of a ring and how it affects the lives of all the people who come into contact with it. It passes from the hands of a two-timed lover in full circle via a couple of schoolboys, a bully, a fence, a poker-game, a small-time drug baron, a thief, the school boys for a second time, and a tramp. Finally it makes it back to its original owner but prior to her being spurned leaving the spectator with the following doubts. Has the story finished, or is it about to begin? Was the story a premonition, with the destiny already inscribed in the ring?
